Dermal Fillers

Plastic Surgery in PasadenaAge imposes many changes on our bodies and spirits, some welcome, many unwelcome. Wrinkles, lines and sagging skin on your face may be signs of wisdom and experience, but quite often they're seen by the people you meet as nothing more than signs of aging. Dr. Wang offers a full complement of non-surgical treatment options to plump and smooth skin, restoring contour and beauty to help you push back the aging process.

Dermal fillers address the depletion of collagen and subcutaneous (under the skin) fat that occurs as we age, and also can be used to restore skin harmed by sun exposure, scarring, disease, or other trauma. Because they can be applied quickly and in most cases offer immediate results, choosing dermal fillers is an easy way to maintain or enhance your beauty.

Some people will need only one type of dermal filler, while others will see the greatest benefit by combining fillers to target different areas of the face, such as using Juvéderm™ to fill laugh lines, Restylane® to augment the cheeks, and collagen to plump the lips. Dermal fillers also can be teamed up with other facial treatments, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, chemical peel or dermabrasion.

Collagen Treatments

Collagen, a natural substance produced by your body, is comprised of protein fibers that weave together to create a support structure for your skin. As we age, collagen production diminishes, weakening the skin's foundation. Collagen skin treatments help fill in lines and prop up trouble spots where skin structure has been compromised. Pasadena and Inland Empire plastic surgeon Dr. Wang uses collagen treatments to minimize furrows, wrinkles or sunken spots on the face, or add definition to your lips or the backs of your hands. You won't have to wait to see results-visible improvements are immediate. Also, collagen treatments require only a short recovery time, and will last from three to six months.

Juvéderm

The maker of Botox Cosmetic recently introduced Juvéderm, a new treatment option to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds or "parentheses" that run from the side of your nose to the corners of your mouth. Juvéderm also can smooth and restore skin on the forehead, around the eyes, or around the lips. Dermal fillers like Juvéderm are less invasive than surgical skin smoothing options, such as a face lift in Pasadena, though surgical solutions offer more lasting results. After a single Juvéderm treatment, you will see immediate improvement in the treatment area, and you'll need follow-ups only once or twice a year to maintain your bright new look.

Radiesse™

As we age, our youthful contours begin to sag and wrinkles begin to form. Have you noticed that your face is looking gaunt, or that light wrinkles have begun to deepen? Radiesse is an injectable gel containing fine calcium-based microspheres that reinforce skin structure while stimulating new collagen growth. Plastic surgeon Dr. Wang uses Radiesse for his Pasadena and Inland Empire patients to invigorate cheeks, the chin and jaw bone, and nasolabial folds. Radiesse also can be used as a non-surgical solution to augment bumpy noses for patients who want to avoid or delay undergoing rhinoplasty. Radiesse treatments take less than an hour and can last up to two years.

Restylane

Dermal fillers like Restylane offer effective treatment that is much less invasive than surgery. Independent studies have concluded that in addition to strengthening the skin's support structure, Restylane encourages the body to produce extra amounts of collagen. This treatment product stimulates fibroblast cells to produce collagen and create chemicals that protect collagen from breakdown. Dr. Wang uses Restylane to plump lips and cheeks, as well as minimize nasolabial folds. Your smoother look following treatment can last six months and often endures much longer.
