Skin Lightening IV Infusion Therapy

IV therapy has long been a rejuvenating go-to for celebrities worldwide, and now skin-brightening IV is very much in vogue! It’s about lightening your skin from the inside, with the active ingredients injected into your bloodstream via an IV drip. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants fed directly into the bloodstream are absorbed much more effective than taken orally via gastrointestinal absorption.

Wang Plastic Surgery Skin Med Spa is now offering IV spa for our patients to unwind and rejuvenate at the same time. The Glutathione (GSH) + Vitamin C intravenous therapy is the best skin lightening or brightening treatment for darker skin ethnic groups, such as African, Hispanic, Asian Indian, and Filipino, or the Chinese obsession for skin whitening, or simply for anyone who’s skin darkened from outdoor activities. However, many women that have flawless skin use skin whitening injections on a regular basis to help maintain their excellent complexion.

Exposure to outdoor elements, primarily ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and oxidative stress is the main cause for photoaging. Photoaged skin shows a variety of age-associated clinical alterations, including deep wrinkles, discoloration, and irregular pigmentation. Recently, it has been revealed that reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced excessively in the cells are involved in the process of skin aging caused by UV exposure. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulate over time are a main contributor to the aging process. UV-irradiation, especially UVA and UVB results in the production of ROS.

How does Vitamin C brightens skin?

Vitamin C neutralizes the damaging effects of ROS, reduces the harmful effects caused by free radicals and regulates collagen production. Other vital roles played by vitamin C are:

  • Reduction of harmful effects caused by free radicals
  • Regulation of collagen production
  • Decreasing sunburn caused by UVB radiation exposure

The color in our skin is produced by melanin; greater melanin production means darker skin. Glutathione inhibits the production of melanin. On top of this, Glutathione speeds up cell turnover, replacing the damaged cells that give a dark appearance to the skin with new cells.

How does Glutathione help lightens skin?

Glutathione is a substance in the body made from three amino acids, namely, glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid. This is known to be a detoxifying agent as well as an antioxidant. Other functions of Glutathione in the body include the following:

IV Infusion Therapy

  • Release of the free radicals and other toxic substances in the body
  • Essential for cellular health and tissue repair
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Regenerates the liver cells from the damages due to alcohol and fatty food intake
  • Detoxification
  • Improving the immune system
  • Reduction of the production of melanin (substance responsible for pigmentation)

How does the Glutathione + Vitamin C IV therapy work?

Together, Glutathione and Vitamin C partners to aid the body in maintaining antioxidants. They help the body in getting rid of the harmful effects caused by toxic hydrogen peroxide and free radicals. They both decrease the production of melanin, in combination, they are considered to be one of the most effective skin whitening products. After the intravenous infusion therapy, patients usually get a much younger looking and fairer skin with an amazing glow. Effects of skin whitening depend on how much pigmentation is there on the skin.

How many IV therapies do I need?

The duration of your Skin Lightening program depends on your skin tone, how many shades you are hoping to lighten and the speed that you are hoping to achieve lightening. This will be discussed in full at your consultation.

Is Glutathione + Vitamin C IV infusion therapy suitable for me?

It is suitable for skin with excessive UV exposure, or have dull complexion due to lack of sleep or under long term mental stress, natural dark complexion; or simply to lighten dark marks, skin blemishes and scars.

IV infusion therapy is not suitable for you if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you have cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, liver or kidney diseases.
